Privacy policy
This page describes how kov collects, uses, and protects information. It’s written plainly so you can actually read it. If something here isn’t clear, email neelbansalx@gmail.com.
Who runs kov
kov is built and operated by Neel Bansal. Today it’s a one-person project; this policy will be updated if that changes.
What we collect
When you sign up for early access or fill in one of the contact forms (apply, growth, investors), we collect what you type into the form, typically your name, email, and the message you send.
When you use the kov app, we store the content you create (notes, whiteboards, pages, spaces) in our database so it can sync across your devices and collaborators. We also store the minimum account information needed to identify you: your email and the authentication tokens issued by Supabase.
We collect basic technical information about each request (timestamps, IP address, browser user-agent) for security and debugging. We do not sell any of this.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data. We don’t use it to train AI models. We don’t share it with advertisers. We don’t run third-party tracking beyond first-party analytics that helps us understand which pages people actually use.
Where it lives
Your data lives in Supabase (Postgres + Storage) and is served through Vercel. Both providers are in the US. Both are SOC 2 audited. You can read their privacy practices on their respective websites.
Cookies + local storage
kov uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you logged in and to remember your settings (theme, sidebar state, recently opened pages). We don’t use third-party advertising cookies.
How to delete your data
Email neelbansalx@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and ask for deletion. We’ll remove your account, every space you own, and every page inside them. Spaces you only collaborated on (where someone else is the owner) remain with the owner.
We aim to complete deletion requests within seven days.
Children
kov is built for students at the secondary, university, and adult level. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, please email us and we’ll remove the account.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update the date at the top of the page when this policy changes. Material changes (anything that affects how your data is used or who it’s shared with) will also be announced via email to registered users.
